Why choose me?

I am a mother who values the special bond within families. I use photography as a way for you to hold on to your babies a little tighter through the ever-changing, beautiful and often chaotic experience of having a family. I use natural light and don’t force rigid poses or smiles. Your gallery will include a handful of traditional pictures, some playful ones and some artsy one with interesting light and whatever catches my eye during your session!

Where are you located?

I am located in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.

What types of photography do you shoot?

I mainly specialise in artistic storytelling imagery for families. I also photograph intimate weddings, portraits and events.

Where will the session take place?

You can have your photos taken in the comfort of your own home, at an outdoor location of your choice or a combination of both. Please note, if you would like stunning, magically lit photographs we recommend the session take place 2 hours before sunset. We service the Dandenong Ranges, Yarra Valley and surrounded suburbs. A travel fee will apply for country Victoria or interstate sessions. Please enquire for further details.

How long does a session typically take?

Most sessions are about an hour. Sometimes, newborn sessions go a little longer as your baby might need to nurse for a while.

What happens if it rains, or my child is unwell?

In the case of bad weather or illness, we are happy to postpone your photography session at no additional cost. In the case your child is unwell, please contact us preferably 24 hours before your session to reschedule.

How early do I have to make a booking?

We recommend getting in touch 2 - 4 weeks in advance to avoid any disappointment.

How do I prepare for a newborn or family session?

We are here to capture what your life is like at this very moment, There is no need for you to do anything. If you haven't had time to shower or do your hair, that's perfectly fine! Honestly, who has time for anything after the arrival of a newborn or those little people with fast moving legs and arms. If you can relax and just let things be, then your pictures will show the essence of your family and carry greater meaning.

What if my house is too dark for pictures?

It is our job to deal with tough lighting situations. Often, it’s beautiful, moody low light that inspires us most! We are comfortable shooting in low light and have the equipment and experience to make it work.

What if we’re too boring?

Rest assured, you are NOT boring! And lots of people think this way and ask this question. When you follow the same routine day after day, it becomes hard to see the beauty that surrounds you. What might seem boring to you, is full of potential moments for us. All you need to do is relax, be yourself and have trust that we will capture those precious memories.

Do I get copyright of my images?

You will receive high resolution digital images for printing, with these you will have a shared copyright with Ah La Luna. This means that you have the rights to reproduce your images in any way you like, however Ah La Luna still has the rights to use the images for promotional material, advertising and display etc.

How can I order prints & products?

Within 2-3 weeks of your session, we will send a link to a private gallery including 30+ hand edited images for you to download. You can also choose images to print with Australia's oldest lab (Atkins Lab) or mark your favourite photos for me to include in your album.

What are RAW files?

RAW files are what we convert into high resolution jPEGs. RAW files require special software to view them. Part of our work is to edit these RAW files by adding or adjusting exposure, colour, contrast, white balance, highlights and shadows so that you end up with a beautiful end product that can be viewed, printed and published anywhere.

We keep all your RAW files and edited jPEGs for up to five years in case you lose your copies. This way we can provide you with a back up in case anything should happen to your personal copies.
